Mr. Dober leads the VDO’s efforts to promote and accelerate high growth companies in the Detroit region. This includes working with and across the existing network of entrepreneurial support organizations in the area, and filling in gaps with new support services and programs. Most recently, Martin was senior vice president of entrepreneurship and innovation for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, where he directed technology investment programs under the state’s 21st Century Jobs Fund. This included managing a $100 Million portfolio of direct investments into early stage companies and another $100 Million of investments into the entrepreneurial infrastructure. Martin also held senior positions in several startup and small technology companies, including EIP, ASTI, and iRobot. His experience includes startup consulting at the SBDC, M&A at Delphi, finance at Chrysler, and engineering at the Budd Company.
