Spanish Tapas Restaurant
La Feria brought a 35-seat authentic Spanish tapas restaurant to the heart of Midtown. La Feria’s food and menu follow the tapas tradition of offering a number of plates with small portions of various Spanish dishes accompanied by wine or beer. URLF’s investment supported the build out of the restaurant space in a previously blighted building undergoing renovations. In 2012, La Feria was awarded a grant to launch the restaurant upon winning the Comerica Hatch Detroit Contest.
La Feria’s opening created new jobs and added to the diversity of restaurants and businesses contributing to the economic revival of Detroit’s urban core. La Feria opened its doors in November 2013 and added 16-seat patio for outdoor dining in the spring of 2014. La Feria is in close proximity to the Detroit Medical Center and Wayne State University, two anchor institutions driving residential and retail demand which this business helps to address.
