Shoppes at Woodward
62,000 square feet
Midtown Detroit, Inc. (MDI) will implement a multi-phase renovation of five buildings clustered in the locations of 3100 West Grand Boulevard and around the corner on both sides of Woodward Avenue, in the block between W. Grand Boulevard and Milwaukee. The renovation of these buildings which include a total of 62K SF represents a critical component of MDI’s master development plan for the Midtown district.
MDI is working with partners to redevelop and in some cases re-tenant the space to a quality level which is consistent with the Midtown district and the needs of the business and residential community.
Repositioning these buildings will reactivate over 35,000 SF of currently unoccupied space, remove a blighted asset, create 45 new jobs, and rejuvenate the area with retail and residential development, which is in great demand in Midtown.
These buildings anchor neighboring existing small retailers at the busy intersection of West Grand Boulevard and Woodward Avenue. The project was identified and considered for its high visibility, anticipated economic impact and alignment with the collaborative Transit Oriented Development Plan.
Chase Invest Detroit Fund provided financing for this strategic land acquisition to facilitate the necessary capital improvements to attract and maintain quality tenants at market rates.
