Invest Detroit is a nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) that puts philanthropic dollars to work in support of Detroit’s underserved neighborhoods, residents, and business owners. We work with foundations, corporations, state and local governments, and individual donors who want to partner in the equitable and sustainable recovery of Detroit and the region. Learn more about our business model.
Our financial tools are primarily higher-risk loans targeting borrowers who are cut off from more traditional sources of capital. Philanthropic support has the potential to provide longer impact as loans are repaid and the funds are redeployed to other critical projects. Our grant programs also have offered over $22M in wrap-around support for entrepreneurs, developers, neighborhood planning, parks, and housing rehabilitation efforts.
Our current fundraising priorities include:
MISSION CRITICAL SUPPORT
Flexible dollars to support the wide breadth of programs including critical support to Detroit small businesses, real estate projects providing housing and business opportunities in neighborhoods, as well as new, promising startups in the region. See our menu for a full list of opportunities.
DETROIT DEVELOPER ROUNDTABLE
The Developer Roundtable is a voluntary association of Detroit-based real estate developers that work to create a common ground where developers of all sizes and missions within the City could meet and advocate for shared issues and improve coordination of efforts.
