Jason Zalewski Joins Invest Detroit

Jason Zalewski joined Invest Detroit this month as a senior credit officer where he will manage a team of credit professionals while also overseeing the credit processes that support our mission-driven real estate, commercial, and venture investment activities.

Jason has been involved in finance and commercial banking for nearly 20 years. After earning his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Walsh College, he went on to earn a Master of Arts in Economics from University of Detroit Mercy. Since then, Jason has worked with several banks, cultivating his skills and developing an impressive track record.

Most recently, Jason served as a vice president for Citizens Bank in Southfield, where he was able to assist in the Bank’s lending and portfolio management goals, their Community Reinvestment Act goals, and loan and investment growth for the Community Development Department throughout the Bank’s seven-state footprint.  Prior to Citizens Bank, Jason served as a relationship manager at Bank of America and predecessor institutions to meet lending and sales goals as he engaged with customers and senior management to optimize the lending process for both parties.

During his free time, Jason enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, ages six and nine. He is also a Red Wings fan. In fact, one of his favorite memories in Detroit was being able to celebrate their Stanley Cup win in 2008! Jason’s experience in financial analysis, effective leadership skills, and commitment to Detroit (and its sports teams) make him a great addition to the team.
