Small Business Support

Helping You Help Detroit

Our small business program is committed to inclusive support and offers loan programs and technical assistance to both new and established businesses located in Detroit. Economic growth and job creation is part of our primary mission, so we prioritize businesses that are community-minded and committed to Detroit and its residents.

Our loans cover expenses such as the purchase of equipment, owner-occupied property renovations or tenant improvements, and the purchase of real estate, among others. For eligibility requirements and more details on our loan product, read our fact sheet.

How To Get Started

To begin the application process, please read our fact sheet for eligibility criteria and fill out the In-Take form below.

Beginning on February 1, 2024, Invest Detroit will be implementing a $250 application fee for our Small Business loan application. The pre-application process is free. Should you proceed to a formal application, a non-refundable $250 fee will apply. This fee covers our assessment costs and is due regardless of loan approval.
