Nicholas Pohl joined Invest Detroit in May 2022 as the Senior Vice President of Credit & Portfolio Risk Management to oversee the credit process that supports our mission-driven real estate, commercial lending, and venture investment activities. Most recently, Nicholas was the Business Development Officer at the Detroit office of Capital Impact Partners where he led the sourcing of new loan transactions to increase mission effectiveness through lending and the deployment of new lending initiatives through marketing lending products and services to existing and new customers and strategic partners. Previously, he was an Officer at Talmer Bank and Trust (now Huntington Bank), at the time a small commercial bank that he helped grow from $100MM to over $6 billion in assets by underwriting over $500MM in new loans. He also supported special projects to help the bank establish its risk rating system and credit guidelines. Nicholas also served as Planning Commissioner in the historic Village of Holly, Michigan. While in college, he and a colleague co-founded a non-profit to benefit college entrepreneurs by providing technical assistance and linking them to university and community resources. He received a BBA degree with a major in finance from the University of Michigan, Flint.
