Mike Vieregge joined Invest Detroit’s lending team this month to serve as senior vice president with a concentration on neighborhood investment. He comes to us from Huntington Bank with nearly 30 years of commercial banking and commercial real estate (CRE) experience.
After graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in finance, Mike spent most of his banking career as a commercial real estate lender and team leader with Huntington Bank and Standard Federal Bank. Spending time with NBD, Fifth Third Bank, and a private equity firm, also broadened his experience in middle market lending, commercial real estate, and workout banking.
A native Detroiter, Mike currently resides in Royal Oak with his wife and three sons. He serves as a Pastor at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, is the co-founder of a mentoring program to assist the homeless, and a former board member of Habitat for Humanity. An avid MSU fan, Mike enthusiastically cheers on Sparty and the green and white all year long.
Mike looks forward to supporting Invest Detroit’s mission to improve the quality of life for all Detroiters through inclusive housing, safe and livable neighborhoods, and equal opportunities for jobs and business growth. His vast knowledge and experience in the private sector are great assets and we are excited to have him on our team.
